We are delighted to share with you our experience at our first Expat Expo in Zug on Sunday May 7th.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet our Zug Community, new people, familiar faces and other expat-serving local businesses. We had the chance to share our stories and showcase our project - A Community Centre for ALL of Zug.
We want to thank everyone who visited our booth, participated in our survey and supported our cause.
As a non-profit organization aiming to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion and civic engagement among expats and locals in Switzerland, we were initially nervous that the Expo might have been too soon! But we were absolutely blown away by the engagement, conversations and positivity we received at our table the whole day.
We believe that diversity is a strength and that everyone can contribute to the common good. We offer various programs and services to help newcomers integrate, learn new skills and make new friends; and after speaking with all of you, we have even more meetups, support groups and events planned to better promote positive mental health.
One of our main goals for this year is to build our own community centre in Zug. This will be a place where we can host events, workshops, classes and meetings for our community. A place to come and sit and have a coffee, complete some life admin or work remotely, but not alone. Feel recognised, seen and supported when times are tough. We are very excited about this project and we hope you will join us in making it a reality. We need your help to raise funds, find sponsors and volunteers, and spread the word about our vision.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer of The Glocal Association, please visit our website or contact us by email. You can also follow us on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn to stay updated on our news and activities. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you again soon.
Thank you for being part of our community!
